Earth atmosphere makes it very different from the Moon and other planets that have no atmosphere. The Moon is very cold during night time and extremely hot in the day time because there is no atmosphere to protect it from the sun and space. It is the same for planets without an atmosphere, they too suffer extreme temperature changes. So in all the earth's atmosphere is a true life giving blanket around our planet.

Science of Rockets

NASA uses Atlas rockets to launch probes into space since the late 1950's. New rockets are approximately 58 meters high and consist of three stages. First is the Atlas stage, next is called Lentaur, finally it is the payload.
The Space Program

The space administration/NASA began in 1958, and its mission was to explore space. Project mercury was to see if humans could survive in space. The success of that program lead to project Gemini.
Exploring Space Today

Today a new type of technology planned for the ISS includes a small robot called a personal satellite assistant. The robot floats next to the astronaut using mini fans. It is powered by solar cells and can even monitor temperature. It can also alert astronauts to any potential problems.
Using Space Science on Earth

NASA gets less than 1% of the U.S. budget. And the economy gets $7 return in the form of job creation, economic growth, and taxes. And people still appose the space program as a wast of money.
