weather fronts

cold fronts
A cold front happens when moving cold air mass comes and moves the worm air mass when the cold front hits it. The cold air's mass is denser than the worm air so the worm air moves to make way.

worm front
at a worm front slow moving warm air mass collides with a cold air mass. the worm air then rises over the cold front.

stationary front
cold and worm air masses collide with each other but neither has enough force to over power the other. They than face each other in a "stand off".

occluded front
this is the most complex front occers when a cold air mass and a cool air mass colide with a worm air mass stuck in the middle. the cold and cool air masses mix and push the worm air up.

Atmospheric Factors Affecting Climate-elijah

Atmospheric Factors Affecting Climate
By:Elijah

    Introduction

The atmosphere is a very unique part of our planet. Our planets atmosphere is the thing that gives our planet extra warmth. The atmosphere has many layers to protect the planet from many things as well. without the atmosphere the planet would be unable to support life. In all the atmosphere is a very important resource.

    Basic Makeup of the Atmosphere

There are many different layers of the atmosphere, each having special qualities. The first layer is the troposphere, this is the layer where all living thing are and where weather occurs. Next is the stratosphere in this layer is the home place of ozone witch protects us from harmful U. V. rays. Third is the Mesosphere, this layer protects the planet from meteoroids. Finely is the Thermosphere, in this layer it is the warmest and where space shuttles fly.

There are many gases that are used to make up our air that are in large amounts and some in the smallest. The most
abundant gas in our air is called nitrogen. The most important gas in our air is oxygen. Without oxygen our planet could not harbor life. the very last gas in our air can be summed up as other gases because all together they only make up 1% of our air. Some of the gases include Argon, Carbon dioxide, Neon, and Helium which reside in only trace amounts.

Earth can keep itself warm by using many different methods. First the planet uses green House gasses to warm itself and keep warmth in. Second it could relief only on the suns rays with our atmosphere to bounce theme around in the  planet. In all there are many ways to heat the planet.

Threats to Earth

There are many threats to the earth like green house gases. Green house gasses destroy ozone and heat the planet more than usual.

The green house effect

the green house effect is when heat gets radiated back and forth.

There are three major types of green house gasses. First is London type green house gasses. Next is photochemical green house gasses. Finally is acid rain which is a very dangerous type of smog. Green house gasses have a warming effect on the planet. they lock more heat in our atmosphere. We should care because the earth can become very harmful to people.

Ozone

Ozone is the combination of three air atoms. ozone helps us by deflecting dangerous U.V. rays away from us. Ozone can hurt us to when inhaled. so ozone is very important.

Ozone depletion is very threatening to the planet. the ozone layor is an important layor in the stratosphere. ozone thining occurs in the poles the reson this is is thought to be because of green house gasses.

In all ozone must be repaired and green house gasses should be slowed or attempted to be stoped.

Earth atmosphere makes it very different from the Moon and other planets that have no atmosphere. The Moon is very cold during night time and extremely hot in the day time because there is no atmosphere to protect it from the sun and space. It is the same for planets without an atmosphere, they too suffer extreme temperature changes. So in all the earth's atmosphere is a true life giving blanket around our planet.

Science of Rockets

NASA uses Atlas rockets to launch probes into space since the late 1950's. New rockets are approximately 58 meters high and consist of three stages. First is the Atlas stage, next is called Lentaur, finally it is the payload.
The Space Program

The space administration/NASA began in 1958, and its mission was to explore space. Project mercury was to see if humans could survive in space. The success of that program lead to project Gemini.
Exploring Space Today

Today a new type of technology planned for the ISS includes a small robot called a personal satellite assistant. The robot floats next to the astronaut using mini fans. It is powered by solar cells and can even monitor temperature. It can also alert astronauts to any potential problems.
Using Space Science on Earth

NASA gets less than 1% of the U.S. budget. And the economy gets $7 return in the form of job creation, economic growth, and taxes. And people still appose the space program as a wast of money.

Based on the Seasons Gizmo I have a conclusion on what causes the seasons. The seasons are made by the earth's axis witch is an imaginary line that go's through the earth's center. The earths axis is tilted about 23.5 degrease, because if it wasn't then there would be no seasons. The earth's seasons are not created by the distance from the sun because the earths orbit is almost completely circular but in fact the earth is closer to the sun during the winter! The real cause of the seasons is when the tilted part of earth is pointing toward the sun that hemisphere go's through summer. And that is the cause of the seasons.

In the ZOOM it makes you think differently about perspective, it forces you to think of a bigger picture or outside the the small box that cunsums and suffecates our visions of perspective and it is narmal to not think of the bigger options at hand. When useing perspective you try to think of what could be happening in the bigger picture and the maximum posibilities. In the book you think you were seeing it accuretly but then you relize that, with a different perspective you see a bigger idea. you can help alter you perspective by tinking of what could make the picture bigger and more complicated. scientists must use perspective in order to study the univers properly because you need to be able to think of what could be posible.

enigma box

the enigma box is a very confusing and amazing thing because it causes you to think in different ways for example when I was observing the enigma box I thought about how much water was put in at 450 milliliter's the water came out and drained.the enigma bok perpleced me and caused me to think in ways i have never befor. the enigma box was a lardge box that could not be seen through. In conclution the enigma box an amazing thing and what realy hapend in the box was surprizing it turns ou that it was a toob that was looped around so when the water got to the top it would drain until it was all gone.

welcome

welcome to Eli's blog a place of terrible spelling this blog is to explain my opinions in my own way.
